Budget and Precept

Whimple Parish Council has approve its Budget and Precept for 2026-2027.
The budget is £32,084, which sees an increase of £2,791 when compared to the 2025/2026 financial year of £29,293.
The key factors leading to the increase are increase in salary costs, National Insurance Contributions, moving to Cloud hosted systems so that the Council improves security and no longer has to provide a laptop. Inflationary increases have also been added to the budget with a figure of 6% used (based on September 2025). A 20% increase has been factored in for water bills.
The Precept has been set at £30,347 which is an increase of 8% when compared to the 2025-2026 Precept of £28,443. This equates to £41.16 Council Tax (the portion for the Parish Council) based on a Band D property. The is £3.43 a month and £0.79 a week.
